The brief was to create works on the themes of different art movements for each deck to help passengers orientate themselves on board. I created a series of footwear whose silhouettes were all in the style of the fashion of the era of each art movement and decorated in the style of that movement.
This Impressionist themed shoe was inspired by paintings by Renoir and Seurat. Taking the Victorian style, the Pointillism effect was achieved by hand-dying fabric and hand-cutting a thousand individual sequins resulting in the perfect colour blend, not achievable with ready made sequins.
