Prop maker Cristiana Maranca was commissioned to create this collapsable rope tree within 3 weeks. She invited me to work with her on it. It was designed by Jon Bauser for a production which opened at the Manchester International Festival, and then played at the Young Vic, London. The tree rose up out of the stage at the finale of the play. “Tree” was a collaboration between Kwame Kwei-Armah and Idris Elba, developed by Sarah Henley and Tori Allen-Martin.
