Commissioned by Enfield Council as part of the Summer Festival in 2020, the brief was to create an artwork that would have a cheering effect both during the pandemic and beyond. The design should not be too intricate or use too many colours so that it would be practical and cost effective to produce. Given just a week to do this and full creative licence, the result had an overwhelmingly positive response from the public.
“Dan’s artwork for the Southgate crossing lights up the town centre with joyful colour. The piece brought delight to the local community during a difficult time mid-pandemic, and continues to give happiness to passers-by on a daily basis. We cannot thank Dan enough for her beautiful work and are proud to have her living and working in Enfield.”
